The bottom of the table team started with eager anticipation of points. Yet out of the blocks, Cary started well — applying early pressure. Our game plan was evident with the forwards picking up and driving with great effect; most of the game was played in this fashion. Cary gained sufficient possession and territory for their three-quarters to run in a brace of tries. At the interval, Cary had the advantage, yet Morganians secured good possession at the start of the second half to take the game to the hosts. A breakaway try from the Morganians' fly-half gave the visitors a significant lift. With half an hour left, Cary raised their game — running in a number of unanswered tries. These were set up through the hard running of debutant Lock, Sam Cockle and the Cary back row. It is clear that Cary are feeling more confident as the season progresses, with individual performances combining to create a round success for the team. by Paul Hills
