Travelling to Bridgwater with only 14 players, Cary were always going to be up against it. However, taking the game to Morganians inspired the visitors to apply sufficient pressure to force a penalty, giving Cary a three-point lead after twenty minutes, with 17-year-old Harold Dunston making a breakthrough. He played his first game for Cary out of position at scrum-half and got Man on the Match. Morganians were next to put points on the board with a converted try, but not using their extra man and bringing the ball in tight helped the Cary side slow it down, giving time to cover the extra man. The hosts lost a line-out, which Cary secured to set up a driving maul. This led number 8, Tony Reynolds, to score with Ben Snook failing to add the conversion. After the break the tempers started to flare which saw the Cary skipper, James Atkins, have ten minutes to chill out. Morganians managed to score two further tries in this time, to put the game out of reach for the Cary side. However, not letting their heads go down, Cary fought all the way and were not too disappointed with the final score. Next week Cary play at home to Wiveliscombe 3rds in another League game, where they are hoping to start their campaign in earnest. by Rosie Meek
