A tough game for Castle Cary, with the Bath Old Edwardians proving to be dominant in the forwards. This soon showed itself with B.O.E. tying up Cary's forwards, giving their backs the opportunity to score down the wings. Both of the tries were scored in the first twenty minutes. Cary had the chance to put some points on the board with a penalty kick, but it was not our day and the ball went just wide. In the second half, Cary exerted more pressure — resulting in a long period being played inside Edwardians' 22-yard — but the opposition's defence was inpenetrable. Cary's attempts were stopped within a whisker of the line on a couple of occasions. by James Travers
