A good home result for Cary, who were leading 29-0 at the half-time whistle. Maurice McCall opened the scoring for a relatively unchanged Cary side. The players came together on the day to give an outstanding example of teamwork. The Cary forwards won good balls from lineouts and set up several plays from which the backs scored their tries. Winscombe 3rds never gave up, and put up a strong performance. During the second half, in particular, they maintained a presence within the Cary 22 for 20 minutes, but our strong defending held them back. CCRFC captain, Steve Armson stated, 'It was good to have Jason Cole back in one of the Cary teams, following a two-year absence. His experience is a great asset for the team'. by James Travers
