Cary started well with promising early pressure, which led to Gareth Watts running in a forty-yard try. We failed to capitalize on this and struggled to keep our lead. Bath Saracens mixed up the game and went in front just before the half-time whistle. The second half was much more flowing for Cary. Dave Clackworthy and Sam Cockle provided excellent lineout displays that gifted us with plenty of possession. With the game almost out of reach, Cary started to rumble up the middle, with Kev Cook and Clive Sefia gaining yards in every phase. Unfortunately, this resurgence was not enough — though Cary definitely finished the stronger team. We are disappointed: this was a game we should have won, especially having the lion's share of possession and territory. by Paul Hills
