Cary were pleased with a good win against a well-drilled Wells side, who were made up of a mix of old hands and colts. The opening minutes of play saw the hosts starting slowly but they then picked up the pace with good rucking from an abrasive pack of forwards. This set up a good platform for Cary's back line to run in 17 unanswered points in the first half, with tries from John Clay, Arial Soto and Jules Stambe, and a conversion from Ben Snook. After the break, Cary ran from deep at an ever tiring Wells side. Half-time changes for the Cary squad brought a new energy to the back line with a further try from Clay, two tries apiece from Jay Berry and Paul Hoggett, and a conversion from Snook bringing the score at the final whistle to 44–0. Man of the Match was awarded to Jules Stambe. You can see photos of the game on this Galleries page. |
