Cary Under 11s travelled to Tor to play their first matches of the season and demonstrated a varied game — switching from using a good, strong mobile pack who were using quick hands to run around the Tor players, to rucking and mauling and sucking in the Tor backs. Such effective play enabled scrum-half Liam Atkins to feed a pacey back line, and who with good hands also ran around to score 20 unanswered points. Man of the Match: Tom Wilkinson. The second game saw the introduction of kicking, which opened up a more explosive game of rugby from both sides. This made both teams more dynamic, using the kicking to relieve pressure and to put pressure on each other, and making it harder for either team to score. However, a last minute try by Josh Coombes for Cary led to a satisfactory 0–5 victory for the visitors. |
