UNDER 7s
Very open play, with good defensive lines. Bridport were short of players so some sportsmanship was needed by Cary. Joe Heath was Man of the Match for that reason.
UNDER 8s
Cary Under 8s continued their winning streak in emphatic style. Playing eight-a-side, the full squad played the game in its entirety. Each and every player contributed well, particularly in defence. Man of the Match was Asher Knight.
UNDER 10s
Castle Cary went to Bridport with a team of ten. The first match was even with both teams making lots of simple mistakes. Cary were guilty of not running forward and this cost Cary the game (15–10).
The second game was a lot different: the coach, Jimmer Atkins, put a bit more fire into the Cary pack. This led to a score straight from the kick-off. Cary put in some good moves and even used the back line once or twice. Some impressive running in the correct direction led to Cary winning 35–5. Both matches were played in glorious rugby conditions and brilliant spirit!
UNDER 11s*
Ideal rugby weather greeted CCRFC after the journey to Bridport. With only 13 players available for the fixture the team was aware of the task ahead. Phil Wake captained the side. Cary started in determined fashion and were equal to the well drilled and aggressive Bridport side. After five minutes of almost non-stop play, Bridport finally pushed over the line with a forwards try (converted) on the left-hand side of the park. Unfortunately the referee was unsighted to a knock-on and the try stood. A further equally impressive passage of play saw both teams stretch each other and explore defensive capabilities before Bridport forged a hard earned second try (not converted). The second half saw no change in the intensity of the play with impressive tackles being made by both sides. There was little opportunity to play expansively on the narrow pitch and this led to a hard fought, tight game. Several injuries bore witness to the commitment of most of the players. Although Cary performed significantly better than their last encounter with Bridport, they conceded a further two converted tries during the second half with no reply. Despite the score, the teams were evenly matched. Notable performances by Cameron Aptakre-Davis, George Parry and Jack Bloss ensured that Bridport had to work hard to beat Cary. Phil Wake received the Man of the Match award for a suitably formidable performance.

CCRFC v BRIDPORT (MIXED U16)
Bridport travelled to Cary with 11 players, borrowing 2 from Cary, making 13 per side. Cary captain, Andy Key, opened the scoring followed by another try from Devon Waine. Cary continued the pressure, which resulted in a third try from Craig Coubrough. A well worked move from Joe Pullen from a short penalty resulted in another Cary try. Bridport came back with a good try, and the half-time score was 20–5. Bridport started the second half with renewed vigour but Cary continued to have the upper hand. Devon Waine used his speed and agility to score another two tries for the home side. Bridport fought on to score a further try and Tom Pennyfather scored Cary's final try from a well worked rolling maul. Cary's Man of the Match was Ben Diepenbrook, who played his best game for Cary so far.
