Travelling to Chard, Castle Cary sealed another victory despite a scrappy start which saw most of the play in the middle of the pitch and Chard aiming to spoil and slow up ball, which they did to great effect.

Getting frustrated by slow ball, Cary tried a kicking game, but this strategy failed to work and Chard defended with real passion. A try from James Atkins, which was the result of a pick and drive from the base of a ruck five metres out, was disallowed. However, 25 minutes in, captain and no. 8, Russell Churchouse, picked up from the base of a scrum to run 25 metres to open the scoring. This was followed with a successful conversion by Pete Rose.

Cary then started to play a more constructed game using the forwards to secure quick clean ball and the backs to run some good lines, from which Nick Gibbons scored from full back with another conversion from Rose.

After the break Chard came back with conviction, trying everything to score but good defending from all of the Cary players held the hosts to a nil score, bringing Cary to 99 points for and none against in the last three league games.

Man of the Match was awarded to James Atkins.
