A tough game for Cary's 2nd XV, with injury still causing disruption in their pack and most team members having to play out of position. This, combined with a well-drilled Old Eds' side, soon took its toll on Cary: three tries were scored before the half-time whistle.

Matters were not helped when John Roper, from Cary's second row, took a nasty kick to the head. Despite wanting to stay on because of the lack of reserve players, he was soon forced to leave the field due to the injury.

Steve Armson, Cary's 2nd XV captain, stated after the match, 'The lads played well today, even thought most of them played out of their normal position. Special thanks to 'Man of the Match', Steve Milligan, who did a great job at prop. Also a well done to the new lads on their baptism of fire, on what can only be described as a hard game, in truly awful weather conditions.'
